Coffee Machines

I am searching for a good espresso machine preferably under $300. I want a good espresso that makes good coffee and a good milk frother!!! If you have any suggestions, please let me know:)

For that price range probably a Gaggia classic. Under 300, not possible, you get a toy parading like an espresso machine. To really make decent espresso you are going to be in for around $1000 for a grinder and maybe a rancilio silvia

However the most important piece of equipment is not the machine its the grinder. the around amount you mention would be how much you should be spending on the grinder (unless you get a hand grinder).

You might want to look for a used machine and grinder, but I think you are going to be disappointed if you want anything "good" for that amount of money.

so my dad ideally wants a coffee machine for christmas but they are so expensive so i thought i would get the next best thing a espresso machine! but would he be able to make a normal coffee from this? And if he did would it be insanely strong?

Yes. An americano is similar to our drip coffee and is made by mixing 1/4 espresso with 3/4 hot water.
